Our latest tea creation brings together Ya Shi Xiang Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong with the bright, aromatic character of yuzu — creating a refreshing iced tea that is floral, citrusy, layered, and distinctly tea-forward.
It is designed for people who want something refreshing without losing the character of the tea itself.
What Is Ya Shi Xiang Oolong?
Ya Shi Xiang (鴨屎香), sometimes translated literally as “Duck Shit Aroma,” is one of the most recognizable aroma styles within Phoenix Dan Cong Oolong.
Despite its unusual name, the tea is known for exactly the opposite experience: an intensely elegant fragrance.
Phoenix Dan Cong teas originate from the Phoenix Mountains of Guangdong, China, an area famous for old tea trees and highly aromatic oolongs.
Ya Shi Xiang is particularly appreciated for its:
- Floral fragrance
- Ripe fruit character
- Honey-like sweetness
- Smooth body
- Long, lingering aroma
Unlike heavily flavored teas, much of this character naturally comes from the tea leaf itself.
That complexity is exactly why we chose it as the foundation for Phoenix Yuzu.
Why Yuzu?
Yuzu has a fragrance that sits somewhere between mandarin, grapefruit and lemon, but with its own distinctly perfumed character.
Instead of overwhelming the tea, its bright acidity helps lift the natural floral and fruity notes of the Ya Shi Xiang.
Think of it like adding sunlight to an already aromatic tea.
The result is a drink with several layers:
First: fresh citrus.
Then: floral Phoenix oolong.
Finally: a clean, gently sweet tea finish.
Rather than tasting like fruit juice with some tea added, our goal was to keep the relationship balanced — tea first, fruit second, refreshment throughout.
What Does Phoenix Yuzu Taste Like?

You may notice aromas reminiscent of white flowers and ripe orchard fruit from the oolong, followed by the sharper citrus fragrance of yuzu.

It is particularly suited for Bangkok’s warm weather when you want something refreshing but lighter and cleaner than a milk-based drink.

We brew the Ya Shi Xiang so that its aroma and structure remain present even after chilling and adding ice. Yuzu then acts as an accent — bringing brightness and contrast without hiding the tea underneath.
